Here's the latest and greatest: 2005 Highlights Spring tour of Europe (Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France) Wrote 7 tunes for a company called THE ENERGY FACTORY, which is dedicated to addressing the growing problem of child obesity in the US Produced Sara Wendt's new release, "Here's Us" on the City Canyons label with Tim Hatfield and Sara Wendt -- the EP received healthy spinning on Triple A radio Gigs with Kate Pierson, Toshi Reagon, among others Copenhagen, Denmark -- guest teacher at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory with 15 other incredible musicians from NY and LA. This was absolutely GREAT. Produced two tunes for Tina Cernero with Tina and Tim Hatfield. We recorded a gospel choir! went to Hawaii -- ok that has nothing to do with music, but it was one of the most amazing experiences ever. other credits: * rhythmic music conservatory, copenhagen, denmark ann was also the recipient of a grant from the macDowell colony in peterborough, nh for summer 2000. This means that she got to hang out in the woods and write for two months. other macdowell guests: aaron copeland, james baldwin and studs terkel, among many others. ann moved to nyc from connecticut and soon landed a gig with joan osborne. she played steadily with joan for a year, sometimes just the two of them doing radio shows. they did a cable tv show together, which was constantly broadcast on vh-1 ’s “before they were stars”. by this time, ann had written countless songs and independently recorded “driving you insane.” “insane” was critically acclaimed in billboard (2 full length articles), relix and guitarworld. she was featured on the cover of billboard in an article on NYC's best unsigned bands. ann took “insane” on the road, travelling the northeast and europe -- she has been to austria/germany/switzerland/italy for the past 10 years and has recently expanded into france. she received support from college radio and local press. she has been invited to perform on wxpn’s (philadelphia) “world cafe” and wdst’s (woodstock) “sessions”. some of her songs have made it on to MTV's "Undressed" and "Real World" and she has composed music for two documentaries by Jean-Francois Vallee: "nourishing earth" for the arte channel and "writers of the century -- william burroughs" for France 3. In 2005, she was invited to teach a master class at copenhagen's rhythmic music conservatory, which was for Ann, a life changing experience. Other teacher's present were Lenny Castro, Chad Wackermann, Rob Arthur, Jack Petruzzelli, Danny Wilensky, Kim Richey, Paul Jacobs, the list of heavies is way too cool. Also in 2005, Ann was commissioned to write music for "The Energy Factory", a company dedicated to addressing the growing problem of obesity in children. And Jean-Francois Vallee hired her for a third documentary for his continuing series on sustainable agriculture. |
